Falling Leaves

I love Colorado; I really do. I can't imagine living anywhere else...except in autumn. Having grown up in Connecticut, the fall is the only time that I long for another state. Now, don't get me wrong I love our aspen trees and brilliant blue skies but every now and then I fantasize about for a damp cold New England October, some apple cider and a dizzying array of colors on the trees. I get lost in those colors. They mesmerize and boggle my mind. So I figure if I can't bring myself to the chilly autumn of my youth, I'll at least surround myself in the colors: Fire citrine, Green Amethyst, Golden Topaz, Peridot, and Smoky Quartz. Ahhhhh, yes, I think I can hear the crackle of those leaves underfoot...

Mom's Favorites...Shhh...Don't Tell!

I know you're not supposed to pick favorites really I do. You start favoring one piece of jewelry in a collection and suddenly that other necklace that wasn't quite so sparkly is never going to get in to Harvard. But let's face it, we're all human and try as we might, there's always some trinket or another that just tickles our fancy a tad more for some intangible reason. So as I pored over my many photos and old blog posts while creating a look book I definitely stumbled upon a handful of favorites! I hope you like them as much as I do (although that already seem to be acting a little cocky!)

Spring Has Sprung!

I would love to be a gardner...really I would;days spent with my hands in the loamy soil under sunny skies sportin’ a floppy hat. A couple of months elapses and there you have lilacs and gardenias and tulips-a panoply of color brightening your world. But the fact of the matter is I can’t grow a damn thing. Perhaps it’s because I’ll spend about three exhausting minutes in the garden and suddenly realize I desperately need some fresh squeezed lemonade, so off I go, and gee whiz I may as well have some cookies to go with that. So I sit down with my hard earned snack and find myself in my studio lemonade i  one hand sparkling gems in the other. It is there that I have to admit if I’m going to make something with pretty colors you’re probably going to end up seeing it in your ears not in a vase. So the ‘Spring has Sprung’ is dedicated to the gardner in me with no soil under her finger nails but awash in, periwinkle hued tanzanite delicate leaf colored amethyst, forget-me-not blue aquamarines and the promise of Spring!
